Math & Science Teacher
I'm Taylor GurrEithun (she.her) and I am a math & science teacher based in Seattle, WA. Originally from Madison, WI, my academic studies took me all across the country: I received a B.S. in Physics from Eckerd College in St. Pete, FL and a M.Sc. in Physics from the University of Washington - Seattle. Now, I love passing on my knowledge & experience to the next generation of scientists!
I have experience in a variety of academic settings. Currently, I teach math & science at the middle through high school levels. Before this, I developed my communication & teaching skills as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Washington. Additionally, I've enjoyed sharing my knowledge by tutoring math and physics to students at the middle school, high school, and college levels.
As a graduate student & research aide, my research focused on Physics Education, where I worked on projects developing course material for algebra-based physics courses and examining the impact that COVID-19 had on college students. As an undergraduate, I worked in a lab exploring finite size effects in groups of synchronizing oscillators.
Outside of academia, I'm all about immersing myself in creative pursuits and spending quality time with the ones I love.
When I'm not at my sewing machine or diving into a new craft project, you'll likely find me curling up for a Netflix binge, getting some fresh air on a walk, or hanging out with my partner & our cat.
To round it all out, I always have to have music playing in the background. From dad rock to (embarrassingly) musical theater, I am jamming when I am commuting, cooking, cleaning, and anything in between.
